American Heart Association Instructor status is valid for a period of two (2) years. It is the responsibility of each individual Instructor to meet all requirements and renew their Instructor status, PRIOR to their expiration date.
Renewal Requirements:
- Teach a minimum of four (4) classes during your current two (2) year Instructor approval period.
- Be successfully monitored by Training Center Faculty while teaching a course in your renewing discipline.
- Attend any required American Heart Association Instructor and / or Guideline updates.
- Complete any required American Heart Association in-person, online, or virtual trainings.
- Attend an Emergency Care Professionals in-person Instructor Renewal course, at which time you must:
- Successfully demonstrate hands-on skills performance
- Successfully complete the appropriate provider written examination (84%)
- Successfully complete the appropriate instructor written examination (84%)
- Complete an updated Instructor Renewal Checklist
- Other requirements as applicable
